Lead a Food Demonstration at the Market!
Thank you for your interest in offering a food or cooking demonstration at the Melrose Farmers’ Market. Live demos are an important part of our mission to celebrate seasonal produce, support local farmers, and help marketgoers feel inspired using fresh, local ingredients at home. Food demonstrations can take many forms, from hands-on preparation to informal tastings and conversations. They are very casual, with people stopping by to talk, learn and taste.
Possible topics could include: seasonal recipes that highlight market produce; salads using fresh greens; basic fermentation and preservation techniques; foods and flavors from around the world; using spice blends, herb mixes, or flavored salts; easy weeknight meals using affordable, SNAP-eligible ingredients; fresh beverages or sauces made with ingredients found at the market, etc. Demonstrations don’t need to be elaborate — approachable techniques and a focus on what’s in season are encouraged.
The time block for food demos will be from 4:30pm to 6:30pm each week, with set up beginning sooner if needed.
Please complete this form to help us learn more about your proposed demonstration and determine the best fit for our market schedule. While we’re not able to provide financial compensation for food demonstrations at this time, these offerings are volunteer-based and include the opportunity to share your work and promote your business with our market community.
