The pandemic has placed a financial burden on the Melrose Farmers Market. Our revenue stream comprises a mixture of grants, donations, and vendor fees. Due to capacity limitations, we operated at less than half our normal number of vendors in 2020. We also experienced a sharp increase in our SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program) shoppers, to whom we offer a weekly $10 match towards purchases at the market. While we are incredibly grateful that donations and grants increased to help us continue to offer this match, our operating budget still took a significant hit. By donating to the Melrose Farmers Market market, a non-profit organization, you are helping us in our mission to provide all Melrose-area residents with the opportunity to buy and learn about nutritious, locally grown and produced foods, promote local farms, organizations and businesses, and build community while contributing to a sustainable future. Please consider a one-time, or repeating, donation. Sponsorships are also available. Click that link under the Get Involved tab. Thank you for your support!
