August 11th market – Celebrating National Farmers Market Week

farmersmarketweek

August 7 through August 13 is the 17th annual National Farmers Week. This week highlights the key role that farmers markets across the U.S. play in bringing communities together around agriculture.

Farmers Markets:

  • Preserve America’s Rural Livelihoods and Farmland
  • Stimulate Local Economies
  • Increase Access to Fresh, Nutritious Food
  • Support Healthy Communities
  • Promote Sustainability
  • Educate Communities
  • Foster Civic Engagement

You can Celebrate National Farmers Market Week by helping them grow! The Sally Frank Farmers’ Market needs volunteers to help put on the market each week. Volunteers are always needed in a variety of ways including things as simple as counting patrons and setting up tables, or you can get more involved with planning and organizing the market. Click the volunteer button on the right to sign-up for a volunteer slot, or just show up at the market table on market day and say “Hi”.  We will be happy to put you to work!
